The Alfalfa Council originally The Certified
Alfalfa Seed Council was organized in 1953,
primarily through the efforts of four California
seedsmen who had become concerned because certified
alfalfa seed production was outstripping usage
of the eastern U.S. consuming area. It was
determined within months of the Council's formation
that the certified alfalfa seed produced in
the western states was being under-consumed,
rather than overproduced. Ample opportunities
were believed to exist to increased usage through
educational and promotional programs directed
to the seed consuming areas.
During its history, the Council has developed
a wealth of alfalfa materials and programs,
including motion pictures, slide sets, advertising
in various types of publications, leaflets
covering a wide range of subjects of concern
to alfalfa growers, has sponsored tours of
both seed production and alfalfa forage production
areas, hosted forums and symposiums of interest
to farmers and scientists and carried on many
other programs as the spokesman for certified,
improved alfalfa throughout the United States.

We are based in Southern California and
have chapters in San Bernadino, Los Angeles
& Orange County. We also have a Reach Out America
Program with volunteers in many different states.
We are comprised of volunteers who are dedicated
to finding our rescued rabbits safe and loving
homes. These devoted volunteers care for the
rabbits, in their own homes, sometimes fostering
many at a time. Most of the time we will have
at least 80 rabbits in foster care. These rabbits
have been abandoned or rescued from streets,
parks and shelters, each one is waiting for
a permanent home. We firmly believe in the
best possible care for our rabbits. They are
all spayed or neutered before we even consider
them for adoption. All potential bunny parents
must complete a written application and a personal
interview. When we feel we have found a suitable
family, we perform an initial home visit. Once
approved, we help the new parents with setup
and care of their new family member. Afterwards,
we follow up to ensure continuing quality care
of our furry friends.
